we are obsessed with wire chairs! i know we are not alone. i saw a set of 4 bertoia chairs a few weekends ago at the brooklyn flea market and why oh why did i pass them by? i am kicking myself now for not picking them up. is it the simple lines? or the cool retro-ness? who knows, but i WANT them!

i am really hoping to find some for our booth at the national stationery show… i think they would look so cool and that way people can sit and relax in style! plus, after the show, they would look amazing in our studio…. wish me luck!

speaking of the stationery show… i do hope to see you there (our stores that is). we’ll be in booth #1835 with 2 new lines and a whole bunch of sassy updates to AT HOME! but more on that later. for fans who don’t have a store, you can always pop into our studio, just email us and we’ll set up an appointment.

what is it about hexagons that we love so much? do they remind us of our childhood sitting in math class or is it because they resemble a beehive and we really like honey? i know we LOVE hexagons right now because they look great on stationery and make this long winter seem almost bearable!

we see them everywhere, from these really super cute yellow tables from west elm to manhole covers (oh man, don’t get me started on how cool manhole covers are in new york city). how adorable is that hexagon dress from lisa perry? see… hexagons are everywhere! so it only made sense for us to update our swatch library with some fab hexagon designs… you’ll have to stay posted for the official launch of the new swatches for our AT HOME line.

howdy! welcome to the dabney lee blog! if you’re reading this blog it’s either because you know us, you like our products or you are addicted to blogs like we are. we also know that in our first blog, we are supposed to tell you a bit about us, so here goes…

we are dabney lee… a stationery design firm located in brooklyn, new york. technically we are in d.u.m.b.o., and if you are a new yorker, you know all about d.u.m.b.o*. it’s the most artistic, funky and fun place for a stationery company to be. we see inspiration out our windows every day, we see it walking to & from the subway, we see it when we grab lunch (or chocolate from jacques torres) … it’s everywhere! *(d.u.m.b.o stands for Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass and is located in a small triangle where the brooklyn bridge meets the manhattan bride)

dabney lee {the company} has been around for 4 years now. it all officially began in october 2004, when dabney lee woglom {yes, there really is a dabney lee} walked into brooklyn heights to obtain her business license from the county clerk’s office. with a passion, more like obsession, for paper, dabney knew she was getting into something fun… but she had no idea how good it could be!

our blog is where we will show you our obsessions, our new ideas, our take on design, our recipes, our life and soooo much more! we hope you’ll stick around for the ride… it’s going to be a fabulous year!
